This position is located in the Office of Public Affairs, Department of Congressional and Public Affairs (CPA), Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). The mission of the Office of Public Affairs is to engage with key stakeholders and communicate information about Corporation activities, programs, Compact results and policies to the public, the news media, the private sector, nongovernmental organizations, academics and think tanks, and other Federal agencies.

DUTIES:
As Managing Director (Public Affairs), you will serve as the principal assistant and technical advisor and authority for the Vice President, Congressional and Public Affairs, on all public affairs, communication and outreach matters and be responsible for providing direction and coordination across organizational lines on those matters, as well as managing all Public Affairs staff. As Managing Director, you will:
Direct and supervise the Public Affairs Division, which comprises communications, press, social media, outreach, speechwriting, publications, design and website management staff.
Draft, oversee and evaluate Corporation-wide messaging, communications and outreach campaigns.
Advise on and help formulate the Corporation’s position on issues of public interest.
Manage public affairs programs and operations to effectively present issues and facts affecting MCC’s mission to the general public, other Federal agencies, the news media and key stakeholders, including the private sector, NGOs, advocacy groups, think tanks, foundations and other donors.
Evaluate current and proposed programs and operations, and recommend actions to initiate, modify or discontinue projects.
Plan, design and oversee Corporation-wide and Department-wide policies, programs and procedures governing external dissemination of information regarding agency decisions or actions.
Serve as a spokesperson for the Vice President and, as appropriate, for the Corporation.
Participate in internal committees and task forces.
Represent the Corporation at select interagency and external meetings.
Identify ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of CPA business processes.
Collaborate with the Vice President, CPA, to develop CPA budgets and work plans.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Qualifying experience for the MC-2c level includes 10 years of senior level experience in public affairs/communications.
