GREENSBORO — Despite grappling with deepening budget cuts, N.C. A&T is attracting more high-achieving students and preparing them for the global workplace, Chancellor Harold Martin said during a university gathering Friday. Martin’s speech came during the university’s annual staff and faculty institute, which kicks off the new academic year. Students start classes Wednesday. “This year won’t be without its challenges,” Martin said. “We’ll be asked to do more with fewer resources.” Martin also spoke of A&T students, who like others elsewhere, are having a hard time coming up with the money for school. Growing loan rates and dwindling financial aid money from the state and federal government have made dreams of an education more challenging, he said
