Public Affairs Manager
NASSP seeks an individual to be responsible for the implementation of NASSP’s communications strategy and objectives, engage in various public relations activities, and serves as editor of monthly member newsletter.
RESPONSIBILITIES
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or other relevant field; master’s degree preferred; minimum three years editorial/public relations experience, preferably in educational environment; current knowledge of trends and policy impacting secondary education preferred; excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal skills; familiarity with print production and digital media processes preferred.
Excellent benefits package. Starting salary range mid to upper $50s.

- Develop effective communications plan that integrates digital and print communications products to reinforce NASSP brands.
- Develop, integrate, and implement activities designed to enhance the image of the principal.
- Cultivate and maintain strong media relationships.
- Advance NASSP’s position with relevant constituents.
- Work with the director of communications to achieve organizational goals and objectives by administering the communications initiatives as determined by the larger organizational strategic planning process.
- Serve as editor for the development and production of monthly member newsletter.
- Serve as primary writer of NASSP public affairs materials, including editorials, speeches, and press releases.
- Other duties as assigned
