The Office of Undergraduate Studies at Howard University is seeking applicants for Coordinator of Student Experiences in the Office of Student Success & Transition. This is a 12 month full-time position with a projected start date of June 1, 2014.
The Office of Undergraduate Studies (OUS) is an advocacy and retention unit committed to ensuring that Howard University undergraduates have a comprehensive academic experience consisting of curricular and co-curricular offerings that exceed their expectations and expand the possibilities of their lives. In collaboration with the Undergraduate Schools and Colleges, the Office of Student Affairs, and various University constituency groups, we offer an array of programs and services that complement our outstanding academic programs and support student success.
Position Description:
The Coordinator of Student Experiences works with Howard University academic and academic support staff and faculty to develop and implement academic support and experiential initiatives that foster undergraduate retention and academic success.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and five or more years of experience in the areas of general academic advising, retention programming, orientation or career development; or an equivalent combination education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job. Demonstrated proficiency with Blackboard, Banner, and related Student Information Systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree and 5-7 years successful experience in the areas of general academic advising, retention programming, orientation or career development; or an equivalent combination education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job. Demonstrated proficiency with Blackboard, Banner, and related Student Information Systems.
