Summary:
The Alumni Manager is responsible for the planning and implementation of programs and projects that strategically engage the KaBOOM! Alumni Network. The Network is made up of over 2,000 past community groups that have led a community build on their own or with KaBOOM!. Our alumni are our “evidence of impact” and play advocates in their communities. The Network provides support and facilitates connections of past partners to each other and to others who have not yet built. Through cultivating and activating the Network, the Manager is expected to achieve increased assurance of long term maintenance and programming at KaBOOM! build sites; as well as engaged alumni who take action to promote and protect play. The Manager will continually foster relationships with members of the Network to ensure maximum engagement and sustained impact.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and manage the Alumni Network
· Build, manage and maintain relationships with grassroots stakeholders
· Plan, implement and promote alumni programs that support the KaBOOM! strategic plan and organizational goals in collaboration with colleagues across departments
· Build institutional knowledge through mining stories of impact and evaluation.
· Develop policies and procedures to guide effective implementation of alumni engagement strategy.
· Working across teams, identify, develop, and assess initiatives that effectively engage in KaBOOM! programming, such as mentoring, advocacy, and other activities that drive towards promoting and protecting play.
· Assist in organizational development and learning through managing a consistent system of feedback from grassroots stakeholders.
· Assist in the development and execution of an incentive programs for alumni participation.
· Identify exemplary alumni for engagement opportunities.
· Manage ongoing communications strategy (newsletter, customized e-mail blasts) to the Alumni Network members.
· Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records; capture contact, project and progress information of alumni via surveys, correspondence, website, etc
· Conduct regular phone/video interviews with alumni to capture the impact that the playground has on the kids and the community.
· Nominate alumni for awards based on the work they are doing in their community.
Perform other duties as necessary, including, but not limited to:
· Actively contributes to our inclusive work environment by valuing other people regardless of differences and takes an active role in promoting practices that support diversity, inclusion, and cultural competence.
· Participate in annual staff retreat and annual department retreat.
· Plan, manage, and facilitate other relevant trainings for other teams.
· Participate in internal KaBOOM! committees to collaborate with other departments to meet organizational goals.
Qualifications:
· Bachelors degree.
· At least 2 years previous
· A demonstrated ability to apply active listening and facilitative questioning skills
· A demonstrated ability to strategize, implement and build constituency programs and activities, along with a talent for motivating volunteers
· Entrepreneurial spirit and eager to suggest and try new ideas.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with colleagues throughout the organization, alumni, other constituents and the public. Outstanding time management and prioritization skills.
· Ability to connect and establish strong relationships with external stakeholders.
· A high level of comfort with Web-based systems and tools and ability to learn use of new ones quickly with a thorough understanding.
· A willingness to provide on-the-ground user support as necessary.

· Experience with web based grants management systems
· Experience with customer relationship management systems, ie Salesforce
